Granit 1980i (wired) and 1981i (wireless) full-range area-imaging devices can read both 1D and 2D barcodes over long distances. Poor quality 2mm codes were detected at close range, up to 100 miles drawn from inspected shields at a distance of 1,600 meters (52 feet). Like the Granit series, the 1980 and 1981i scanners offer the best class protection with IP65 rated housing.
